How can I share my contact’s information with my other contacts in Skype 4.2 for Windows desktop or below?

These instructions are for Skype 4.2 for Windows desktop or below. Before continuing, we strongly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version. For Skype 5.0 and above, refer to these instructions. If you're not sure which version of Skype you're using, it's easy to find out.

You can send information for your contacts to other Skype contacts in two ways:

  1. Open a conversation with the contact or group you want to send your contact’s information to. Then drag and drop the contact from contact list to the text area of the conversation. If you are in a group conversation, all the participants in that conversation will receive the contact(s).
  2. Right click on a contact or a group in the contact or conversation list that you want to send contacts to. Select the ‘Send Contacts...’ option. The send contact dialogue box will appear. Select all contacts you want to send from the Contact list in that dialogue box and click the Send button. Sent contacts will be posted in the conversation with the receiver.
