Can I get a free trial of a subscription?

The short answer is: sometimes.

A free trial allows you to try a subscription for free for a month. Free trials are usually by invitation only. Check your email and/or sign in to your account to see if you currently qualify. If you haven’t been selected for a free trial or other special offer, please be patient; you may be selected for the next one.

You can also try checking the Skype Special offers page or our Facebook page for current promotions. If you see the offer there, just click it; you’ll be directed to the free trial page where you can sign up for the offer.

How do I cancel the free trial of a subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time before the end of the free trial period (within 27 days) and you won’t be charged.

Simply sign in to your account, click your existing subscriptions, then click Settings next to the free trial subscription you want to cancel.

If you only have one subscription, you won't see a Settings link; simply click your subscription. On the next page, click Cancel subscription.

Remember to cancel your free trial within 27 days of the date it started, and you won't be charged anything.

If you’ve chosen to pay for your subscription by PayPal, cancelling your PayPal agreement at any stage will also automatically cancel the free trial.
