What is “bursting”?

Skype provides for 20% additional concurrent calling (“bursting”), over and above your subscribed channels.

This allows you to receive additional concurrent calls even though you may not have paid for enough channels to receive them. We will email you with a notification that one or more of your SIP Profiles have been bursting so you can decide whether or not to buy additional concurrent calling channels. Bursting will only work for a limited time unless you increase your paid channels.
