What do I do about inactive Skype Credit?

If you thought you had some Skype Credit, but aren’t able to use it anymore, it may be because it has become inactive. Skype Credit becomes inactive if you don't use it for a certain period. Don’t worry! It’s really easy to re-activate it.

To re-activate your Skype Credit:

  1. Sign in to your Skype account.
  2. If your Skype Credit is inactive, you’ll see a Reactivate credit link at the top of the page. Click Reactivate credit.
  3. Check the credit that appears, then click Reactivate credit.
  4. Wait for the credit to reactivate. It can take a little while.
  5. That’s it. Your Skype Credit is ready to use again.

If you’re in Japan, things work a little differently. Please refer to our Terms of Use for more information.

In the future, you can keep your Skype Credit active by making sure you place a call (outside of your subscription, if you have one) or send a text every 180 days.

In case you forget, we send two email notices, 7 days and 2 days before your Skype Credit expires, to remind you to keep your Skype Credit balance active.
