How do I update my credit card or other payment method in Skype?

  1. Sign in to your account at skype.com.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and, under Account details (Billing and Payments), select Stored payment details.

    • To add a new payment method: Click the plus icon, enter your new payment information, check the box to agree to the Skype Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, then click Continue.

    • To delete a payment method: Click Delete next to the payment method you want to remove, and then click Delete on the confirmation page.

You can delete a credit card if you’ve used it to buy Skype Credit, but you can’t delete a card that is being used for recurring payments (a subscription or Auto-recharge). You must cancel the recurring payment first.

You can't delete PayPal as your payment method.

To change the payment method for your calling subscription:

  1. Under your profile picture, click the subscription you want to change the payment method for.
  2. Click Change payment method

To change the payment method for your Skype Number subscription:

  1. In the Manage features section, click Skype Number subscription.
  2. Under your Skype Number, click Settings
  3. Click Change payment method

Select a different payment method and click Update (or Save). If you don't have another payment method stored, add a new payment method.

Your credit card details and other billing information are stored in compliance with the highest safety and security standards set by the credit card industry. Skype is also PCI DSS* compliant. Skype follows these regulations to help protect the personal data of its customers.

If your new credit card information is already updated in your Skype account, it’s because your card provider notified us of a change to your payment method.

Skype is enrolled in the Visa Account Updater ®, and MasterCard Automatic Billing Updater ® programs. These programs prevent the interruption of your auto-renewing subscriptions if your credit card is lost or expires.

For more information, or to opt out, contact your card provider.
