    How do I manage SIP Profiles?

    This FAQ contains instructions on how to create a SIP Profile, rename a SIP Profile and delete a SIP Profile.

    A SIP Profile is a SIP user account that contains all of the configuration and user data for your Skype Connect™ service.

    You can create multiple SIP Profiles if your PBX can accept more than one, or if your company owns multiple SIP-enabled PBXs. You may want to set up multiple SIP Profiles that are specific to the needs of your business by creating separate ones for each department that needs one. You can then manage the elements of each SIP Profile according to the department’s business needs and budget.

    Note that the maximum number of simultaneous channels you can use is restricted to 300 per SIP Profile.

    Creating a SIP Profile

    To create a new SIP Profile is easy, just follow the steps below:

    1. Sign in to Skype Manager™.
    2. Click Features in the toolbar.
    3. In the menu on the left, click Skype Connect.
    4. Click Set up a SIP Profile.
    5. Enter a name for the new profile into the Choose a profile name field.

    The password will be sent to your registered email address.

    If you’re using SIP registrations, make a note of the SIP Profile’s credentials displayed, although you can retrieve them at any time.

    If you have a SIP-enabled PBX that doesn't support SIP registrations, select the IP Authentication tab, enter your public IP address and UDP port in the fields displayed and click Continue. The details needed to configure your PBX (Skype Connect and IP addresses) are displayed.

    Select Set up incoming calls and Allocate Skype Credit at the bottom of the screen and follow the instructions to set up your preferred settings for incoming calls and to assign Skype Credit.

    Renaming a SIP Profile

    To rename a SIP Profile:

    1. Sign in to Skype Manager™.
    2. Click Features > Skype Connect and select View profile next to the SIP Profile that you want to rename.
    3. Click anywhere within the Profile name row.
    4. Click in the name field and enter the new name.
    5. Click Save.

    Deleting a SIP Profile

    Before deleting a SIP Profile, note that deleting a SIP Profile causes:

    • Any remaining Skype Credit allocated to that SIP Profile to be returned to the Skype Manager balance.
    • Skype Numbers to be returned to Skype Manager for reallocation.
    • Call history to be lost. If you need a record of the call history, you can take one using the reporting options before deleting the SIP Profile.

    To delete a SIP Profile:

    1. Sign in to Skype Manager™.
    2. Click Features > Skype Connect and select View profile next to the SIP Profile that you want to delete.
    3. Click Delete this profile.
    4. Click Delete to confirm.
