How do I add phone numbers to a contact’s profile in Skype for Mac OS X?

If you use Skype Credit or a subscription to make calls to mobiles or landlines, you might find it useful to save phone details for a Skype contact if they haven’t already. This allows you to use the call button to select a number to call, rather than enter their number using the dial pad every time.

Note: adding extra numbers for a contact saves this information in your Contact list only. No one else will be able to see these details.

To add a phone number for a contact:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. In the sidebar, click Skype to display your full Contact list and find the person you wish to add a number to. You can use the Search field in the top right of the screen.
  3. Place your cursor over the person’s picture to see the green call button, click the down arrow and select Add Contact Number….

  4. Select the type of number (Mobile, Home, Office or Other), their country code using the flag drop-down list, and type their number in the box.

  5. Click Add. The number is saved.

The new phone number is added to your contact’s profile.  To change this at any time, you can click the Edit link next to the number (the Edit link is only displayed next to numbers that you have entered).
