Important: Starting May 31, 2022, Skype To Go will no longer be available to any Skype user. It will not be possible to make calls through Skype To Go service. This change will not impact your calling subscriptions, which will remain active. You can continue using them via Skype Web, Skype Desktop, or Mobile apps. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you're having problems with Skype To Go, check the following.
Have you registered your phone correctly?
If you’re prompted to enter your four digit PIN, it means that Skype To Go™ does not recognize the phone number you're calling from.
Make sure you've registered the correct phone number or are calling from a phone number you previously registered. To check:
- Sign in to your Skype account and select Skype To Go.
Note: If you are on an iPhone or iPad and don't have the Skype To Go option, you may need to clear the history and cookies on your device.
- Next to Registered phones, select Manage. You'll see a list of registered phone numbers.
- If the number is incorrect, click Edit and enter the correct number under Phone number.
- When you’re done, click Save.
Do you have Caller ID switched on?
If you have registered your phone number correctly but you're still being asked for your four digit PIN, it might be due to your caller ID settings. If your phone does not display the caller ID, Skype To Go cannot recognize your phone.
Make sure you have caller ID turned on. You can test this by calling a mobile phone to see if your phone number shows up. If it doesn't, call your phone provider for support, or find the caller ID instructions in your phone’s manual or on the manufacturer’s website.
Do you have sufficient Skype Credit or a subscription?
You need to have some Skype Credit or a suitable calling subscription to use Skype To Go. If your Skype Credit runs too low or runs out, you’ll need to top it up before you can resume your call.
