How do I add a phone number to a contact in Skype for Windows desktop?

Always make sure you have the latest version of Skype so that you don’t miss out on the new features and improvements.

You can add a phone number to a contact and then call their mobile and landline or send them SMS text messages from Skype. All you need is a little Skype Credit or a subscription (SMS text messaging is only available with Skype Credit).

Adding a phone number to a contact

It’s easy to add a phone number to a contact:

1. In your contact list, select the contact you’d like to add a phone number to.

2. Above the calling area, click the little arrow on the green Call button and select Add phone number.

3. Select a flag from the country code drop-down list, then enter a valid phone number.
You can select Mobile, Home, Office or Other number type from the drop-down list beside the flag.

4. Click The tick icon to add the phone number to the contact.
