How do I send a file in Skype for Linux?

In Skype for Linux, you can send files to your contacts via the chat window.

To send a file:

  1. Click on the contact you wish to send the file to in your contact list, so that their profile is shown. Remember that you can only send files to contacts that are currently online.
  2. Click  and select Send File.
  3. The Choose File(s) to send dialog box will open. Browse to file you wish to send and click Open.
  4. The file will not be sent until the person receiving it authorises it by clicking Save as in their own chat window to accept the file.

It is possible to send a single file to multiple contacts.
