What is the Skype Office Toolbar and how does it work?
The Skype Office Toolbar is not available for download any more, but if you’ve already installed it, you can continue to use it.
The Skype Office Toolbar allows you to make Skype calls and send the files you are currently working on to other people using Skype.
Skype-to-Skype calls made using the Skype Office toolbars are free. However, you will need a little Skype Credit or a subscription to call mobiles and landlines.
Microsoft Office 2000, XP and 2003: Once installed, the Skype Office Toolbar is available in a separate menu at the top of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Microsoft Office 2007: Once installed, the Skype Office Toolbar is available in a separate tab at the top of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint:
Select the country required from one of the drop-down lists displayed or enter the name of the country in the field provided. Click OK to save the new country code as your default.

If you decide that you no longer require the Skype Office Toolbar, you can uninstall it as follows:
- Windows Vista and 7: Click Start, type “run” and press Enter.
Windows XP: Click Start > Run...
- Type “appwiz.cpl” and click OK.
- Select Skype Toolbar for Microsoft Office from the list, right-click it and select Remove or Uninstall. A message box is displayed, asking if you are sure that you want to uninstall the toolbar.
- Click OK to uninstall the Skype Office toolbar.
