Adding contacts in Skype 3.2 for Android phones

Have you downloaded Skype and joined us? Then you’re ready to add contacts.

It's easy to find your friends who are using Skype and add them to your contacts. When you’ve added your friends, you can make free Skype calls and video calls with them, and send them instant messages.

You can also add your friends who are not using Skype to your Skype contact list, and call them on their mobile or landline via Skype. You’ll only need a little Skype Credit or a subscription to call mobiles and landlines.

Adding a Skype contact

To add a Skype contact:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Tap the search icon The search icon.
  4. Tap the icon next to the text box and select Skype directory.

  5. Enter a contact’s name, Skype Name or email address.
  6. Select the contact you want to add from the search results and tap Add.
  7. Write something to introduce yourself if you want, and tap Add contacts.

The person is added to your contact list, but will appear offline until they accept your request. After they’ve accepted your request, you can see when they are online and make free voice and video calls with them.

Adding a mobile or landline number

To add a mobile or landline number:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap Contacts.
  3. Press the phone’s menu button or tap the menu icon The menu icon on devices running Android 3.0 and higher.
  4. Select Save number.
  5. Enter a contact’s name and mobile or landline number including the international and area code (you can set the international dialing code by tapping the flag icon and selecting a country from the flag menu drop-down list), then tap Add.
