Why can't I read some of the menus in Skype for Linux?

In older versions of Skype for Linux, the default style setting could cause some menus to display text incorrectly. This problem has been solved in the latest version of Skype for Linux, which you can download here

However, if you're an upgrading user, your user profile may still contain the old setting. To change the setting:

  1. In Skype, click the Skype button at the bottom left of the window and select Options.

  2. The General settings page is displayed.
  3. In the Choose style drop down menu, select Desktop Settings.
  4. Click Apply
  5. Restart Skype.
