How do I edit my Skype profile and change my status on Skype for PlayStation® Vita?

This FAQ will help you with editing your profile, changing your status, and adding/changing your profile picture on Skype for PS Vita.

Editing your profile

In your profile, you can add personal information about yourself to share over Skype. This includes information such as your birthday, your age and the country you live in. You can also add your mobile, office and home phone numbers to your profile to make it easier for your contacts to call you from Skype.

To edit your Skype profile:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap the My Info icon in the top right corner of the screen, then select Profile.

  1. From the list that appears, select what you’d like to change or add to your account.

Setting your status

Your status lets your Skype contacts know whether you are available for a conversation. A status symbol is displayed next to a contact’s name in the contact list.

To change your status:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap the My Info icon in the top right corner of the screen, then select Status.

  1. Select your status from the options list that opens.

Adding or changing your profile picture

If you add a photo to your profile, your friends will be able to see it in their contact list. Your profile picture also appears in their conversation window when they’re instant messaging you. 

To add/change your profile picture:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap the My Info icon in the top right corner of the screen, then tap your profile picture.

  4. You can take a photo with your PS Vita’s camera or use an existing one:
  5. Take a photo and Choose existing photo options displayed in the Set your profile picture window.

    To use an existing picture, tap Choose existing photo, then select one from the photos displayed.

    To take a picture with your PS Vita’s camera, tap Take a photo, then tap The camera icon. at the bottom of the screen.

    You can tap the The switch camera icon. icon to switch between the front and rear cameras.

     

  6. After you take the picture, the message “Do you want to use this image?” is displayed. Tap Yes to set the photo as your profile picture.
