How can I make calls with Skype for PlayStation® Vita?

It’s easy to make calls with Skype for PS Vita. This FAQ shows you how to:

Making Skype-to-Skype calls

To make a Skype-to-Skype call:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap All Contacts .
  3. Tap the contact you want to call. 

  1. When the Contact Card opens, select Video Call or Call.

Making calls to mobiles and landlines

To make calls to mobiles and landlines, you will need a little Skype Credit or a subscription.

To call a mobile or landline number that is not saved in your contacts:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap the Dial Pad .
  3. Use the dial pad to enter the number you want to call, then tap the Call button.

If a Skype contact has a phone number saved in their profile, you can call the number directly from their profile:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap All Contacts .
  3. Select the contact you want to call, then choose a phone number from their registered numbers list. Tap the number to start calling.

Making sure you only receive calls from your contacts

To receive calls only from your contacts:

  1. Sign in to Skype
  2. Tap the My Info icon in the top right corner of the screen, then select Accept calls from.

  1. Select Contacts only.

Joining a group call

You can join a group call (audio only), but you cannot initiate or have a group call with your friends who are using Skype for PS Vita.

There are two ways to join a group call:

  • You can be in a video or audio call, and your friend can add another participant to that call.
  • Your friend can invite you into an existing call or include you in a group call and you can accept the invitation.

To join a group call when your friends are calling you:

  1. Tap the Call button to join the group call.

  1. Then you can see the participants and duration of the call.

  1. When you tap the screen, you can choose to open the dial pad, go on mute or end the call.
