    How do I call mobiles and landlines from Skype for Linux?

    Have you downloaded Skype and created an account? Then you’re ready to get calling.

    Skype-to-Skype calling is free. To make low cost calls to mobiles and landlines, you will need a little Skype Credit (for pay as you go calls) or a monthly subscription.

    To call a registered phone number:

    1. Sign in to Skype.
    2. In your contact list, click the contact you want to call.
    3. Click the little down arrow next to the blue chat icon, select Start Call and then select a number from the list.

    To call an unregistered phone number:

    1. Sign in to Skype.
    2. At the bottom of the Skype window, click Call Phones or Send SMS.

    1. When the dial pad opens, select a country from the drop-down list, then enter a number and click the green call button.

    You can see the calling rates for the country you have chosen by clicking Calling rates.

    To add a number to a contact

    1. Sign in to Skype.
    2. In your contact list, right-click the contact you want to add a number to and select View Profile to open their profile.

    1. Click Add phone number, then enter the number you want and press Enter to save it.
