Calling someone who is on Skype (Skype for modern Windows)

Have you downloaded Skype for modern Windows? Then you’re ready to get calling.
With Skype for modern Windows, you can talk to anyone else on Skype, anywhere in the world, for free.
First, you need to find your friends on Skype and add them to your contacts. When you’ve added your friends, it’s really easy to call them.
Before you start making a Skype call, you can check the following FAQs:
To call your contacts
Under people or favorites, select the contact you want to call.
Your contact needs to be available (a green icon is displayed next to their name) for you to select them.
In the window that opens, tap or click the green call icon.
If your contact has a phone number attached to their account, you’ll have to select call Skype.
If your contact is not available and you‘d like to call them on their mobile or landline number, you’ll need a little Skype Credit or a subscription.
The screen changes color, call options appear near the bottom of the screen and you’ll hear ringing until the other person answers.
If you can't hear each other, move your mouse to the bottom-right corner of your screen or swipe from right to open the charms. Then select Settings > Options and check your settings.

To end the call, tap or click the end call button.
Useful things you can do on a call
Go back to Skype Home to see your recent conversations, favorites, or people. To get back to the call screen, select the small call window in the top right corner of the Skype Home screen.
Turn off your webcam so the other person can’t see you.
Mute your microphone so the other person can't hear you.
Show the options window so you can:
When you receive an instant message (IM), an orange dot with the number of received messages appears in the upper right corner of the screen.
Group video calling is currently not available in Skype for modern Windows. However, you can use the desktop version of Skype on Windows 8 to enjoy all the Skype features.
