Have you downloaded Skype* and joined us? Then you’re ready to add contacts.

Adding contacts automatically

  1. Sign into Skype.
  2. Tap the My info tab and select Settings.
  3. Enable the Automatically add friends option.
  4. Tap the Add phone number option under How people find me to verify your mobile number. Learn more.


Finding and adding contacts manually

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap the Contacts tab at the bottom of the screen. 


     
  3. Tap the add new contacts icon at the top of the screen. Type in the name, Skype name, or email address of the person you're looking for.


     
  4. Alternatively, you can tap the Search function at the top of the screen and type in the name, Skype name, or email address of the person you're looking for. As you type, suggestions from your existing contacts list will come up along with the option to Tap to find new contacts.

  5. From the list of matches displayed, select the contact you’d like to add.
  6. You are then prompted to send a contact request. Enter some text to introduce yourself if you want, and tap send contact request.

 


Finding contacts not on Skype - invite anyone to chat

Do you have a friend who's not on Skype? No worries, Skype makes it convenient to invite anyone to chat.

  1. From your Skype contacts, tap the All tab, and then tap the link to Invite friends to Skype.
  2. In the Search field, type your contacts name. Matches will automatically display. 
  3. Tap the contact you want to chat with.  
  4. Choose from the contact methods listed to send the invite (phone or email address).
  5. Tap Send to send your invite.
