Calling mobiles and landlines (iPad)

Have you downloaded Skype and joined us? Then you’re ready to get calling.

You can easily call your friends on mobiles and landlines with Skype for iPad. All you need is a little Skype Credit or a subscription. Use the dial pad to enter a phone number, or call a number from your contact's profile when they are offline on Skype.

Calling a number using the dial pad

It’s easy to call a number using the dial pad:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap the dial pad icon.
  3. Enter the number you’d like to call, then tap the call icon.
  4. The call icon on the dial pad that is displayed after tapping the dial pad icon.

Calling a contact on their mobile or landline

To call a Skype contact’s mobile or landline number:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap the contact you’d like to call.
  3. Tap Voice Call, then select the number you want to call.

This works only if your contact has a mobile or landline number attached to their Skype profile. If you don’t see a number available, use the dial pad to enter the phone number manually.

Calling a contact from your iPad Contacts

If you have your friend’s number saved in your iPad contact list, it’s easy to call them from Skype:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap People > Lists > iPad Contacts.
  3. Tap the contact you'd like to call.
  4. Tap Voice Call.
