Calling mobiles and landlines (Android tablets)

Make low cost calls to mobiles and landlines with Skype for Android. All you need is a little Skype Credit or a subscription. Use the dial pad to enter a phone number, or call a number on your contact's profile when they are offline in Skype.

Calling numbers using the dial pad

It’s easy to call numbers using the dial pad:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap the call icon The call icon.
  3. Enter the number, including the area code, using the dial pad keys, then tap the green call icon. Alternatively, you can select the country code from the list.

Calling a contact on their mobile or landline

If a contact has saved a phone number in their profile, or if you have added a number to a contact, then it’s easy to call them when they’re not on Skype.

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Select the contact you’d like to call, then tap the call icon The call icon.
  3. Select one of the mobile or landline numbers.

The phone numbers displayed after selecting the call icon

If these options are not available, it means the contact does not have a mobile or landline number attached to their profile. To call them, enter their number using the dial pad or make a Skype-to-Skype call.
