How do I manage my contacts in Skype for Windows Phone 7?

Once you’ve added contacts, it’s easy to manage them. This FAQ will show you how to:

How do I accept or decline a contact request?

When you receive a contact request, you can choose either to accept or decline it:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. In recent, select the contact request. 
  3. Tap either accept to add the contact to your contact list, or block to decline the request.

How do I block a contact?

You can block a contact to prevent them from calling you Skype-to-Skype, instant message you or see when you are online.

To block a contact:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Select the contact you’d like to block from your contact list.
  3. Tap , then select block and tap ok.

To unblock a contact:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Go to your contact list and tap .
  3. Tap view blocked and select the contact you want to unblock. Tap ok to confirm.

How do I filter contacts?

You can select the following groups of contacts to be displayed:

  • All: displays all Skype contacts in your contact list.
  • Online: displays only contacts that are online.
  • Phonebook: displays only your native phonebook contacts with phone numbers in their profiles.

To filter your contacts:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Select contacts, then select all to view filter choices: all, online or phonebook.


If you choose to call a phonebook contact and the phone number is not valid (it does not include a country code, for example), you can use the dial pad to modify it.
