Calling someone who's on Skype (Windows Phone 8)
The following questions and answers will help you make Skype-to-Skype calls with Skype for Windows Phone 8. They’ll also explain how you can receive calls to your Skype account and Skype Number, and find your call history.
How do I make a Skype-to-Skype call?
Skype-to-Skype calls are free* on Windows Phone 8, just like they are on your computer. To start a Skype-to-Skype call:
- Start Skype.
- Select a contact from your people list.
- Tap the call icon .
- Select call Skype.

The call quality depends on the available network conditions. The faster your data connection, the better the call quality will be. We also recommend that your contact uses the latest version of Skype available for their device.
How do I receive Skype voice calls?
When you receive a call, you’ll see an incoming call notification screen. Simply tap answer. To reject the call, tap ignore.
If you have activated call forwarding, the call will be forwarded to another number.
Can I make a group call?
You can’t start or join group video calls on Windows Phone.
You can join group voice calls but won’t be able to start them. You may have difficulty joining some group calls. If so, we recommend you login to Skype on another device to accept the call.
Can I receive calls to my Skype Number?
Yes, you can. Calls to your Skype Number will ring just like any other Skype call.

Where can I view my call history?
You can find your call history, along with your instant message history, by swiping across to the recent list in Skype home.
If you’d like to remove a conversation from the recent list, simply tap and hold it, then select remove.
With Skype for Windows Phone 8, you can also call mobiles and landlines.
