Calling mobiles and landlines (Windows Phone 8)

Have you downloaded Skype and joined us? Then you’re ready to get calling.

With Skype for Windows Phone 8, you can make low cost calls to mobiles and landlines. All you need is a little Skype Credit or a subscription.

To call a mobile or landline number using the dial pad:

The dial pad with the call button below it.

  1. Start Skype.
  2. Tap the call button Call button.. This opens the dial pad.
  3. Select the country you’re making a call to from the drop-down list, then enter the phone number.
  4. Tap the green call button below the dial pad.

To call a Skype contact’s mobile or landline number:

  1. Start Skype.
  2. Under people, select a contact.
  3. Tap the call button Call button..
  4. Select the phone number you’d like to call.

If you don’t see a mobile or landline number, the contact doesn’t have a mobile or landline number attached to their profile.

To call someone in your Windows Phone phonebook:

The “all” option selected under people.

  1. Start Skype.
  2. Make sure that all contacts are displayed in your people list.
  3. Select the phonebook contact you’d like to call.
  4. Tap the call button Call button..

Before you make a call to your mobile or landline contact, make sure you add an appropriate country code to their phone number.
