What is a Skype Gift Card and where can I buy one?

A Skype Gift Card is a prepaid card that you can use to share Skype Credit with your friends and family.

You can buy Skype Gift Cards from the Skype shop, on Facebook and at selected offline retailers.

If your contact has birthday, a link to send them a Skype Gift Card will appear at the top of the conversation window alongside their profile information. To send them a gift card, simply follow the link.

Unlike physical gift cards purchased in-store, if you buy a Skype Gift Card from the Skype shop or Facebook, the gift will be delivered to the recipient via email.

When will my Skype Gift Card be delivered to the recipient?

A Skype Gift Card should be delivered within 24 hours from the time you made the purchase.

What if the friend I’m sending a Skype Gift Card to doesn’t have a Skype account?

They’ll have an option to set up their own Skype account when they redeem their card.

If your friend has a Skype account and uses several e-mail addresses, you can send the gift card to any of them. It doesn’t matter whether the email you send the card to is registered with their Skype account or not.

Can the recipient share Skype Gift Cards with others?

Yes. As long as they haven’t been redeemed, Skype Gift Cards can be passed on to someone else, by either forwarding them the email containing the Skype Gift Card or providing them with the unique code associated with it.
