Skype for modern Windows has been designed to be always on, so you never miss a message.
You can sign out of Skype for modern Windows only if you’ve signed Windows 8 with a local Windows user account on your computer:
If you’re signed in toWindows 8 with your Microsoft account, you can’t sign out of Skype. But if you don’t want to be disturbed, simply set your Skype status to invisible, and nobody will see you online.
If you want to sign in to Skype for modern Windows with a different Skype name, you can easily create another Windows 8 user account and sign in to Skype with that name.

Although you can’t sign out of Skype for modern Windows, you can easily close the application, or you can stay online and control how much you see of Skype and how much your contacts see of you.
If you want to close Skype for modern Windows, simply press the Alt+F4 key combination on your keyboard or, if you have a touch screen, swipe from the top all the way down the screen.
If you want to stay online but simply don’t want to be disturbed, you can turn off Skype notifications or set your status to invisible.
If you don’t want to see anything when you receive a message or call:

When you’re invisible, you can still make calls and send instant messages to you contacts.
If you only want Skype to run when you open it:
This will stop Skype from running when you’re not using it and will also stop any notifications from appearing in the lock screen. If you set this option to Off, you won’t be able to multitask with Skype.
