Why can’t I connect to Skype (Skype for modern Windows)?

If you’re having trouble connecting to Skype for modern Windows, there are a few things you can do to try and solve the problem.

Uninstall and reinstall Skype

In the Start screen, press and hold or right-click the Skype for modern Windows tile, then tap or click Uninstall Skype. Visit the store and install Skype again.

Sign in to other Microsoft account apps

Try signing into a couple of other Microsoft account apps with the same Microsoft account, like People or Xbox.

Wait for a while

If you still can't connect, wait for  24 hours and then try to open Skype again.
