What’s new in Skype 3.1 for Windows 8.1 (Skype for modern Windows)?

To enjoy the latest features and improvements, always make sure you’re using the latest version of Skype for Windows 8.1.

The latest version of Skype requires your device to run Windows 8.1. So, you must upgrade your Windows operating system from Windows Store if you haven't done so yet. Upgrading to Windows 8.1 is easy and completely free. You'll also need a computer with at least a 1.9 GHz quad-core processor.

This update of Skype for modern Windows brings you free group video calling with up to 10 people (including yourself). Learn more.

In addition to free group video calling, we've enhanced the instant message experience for this version. It's now possible for you to edit and remove your messages after you've already sent them. Learn more.
