How do I manage my contacts in Skype for iPhone?

After you’ve added your friends to your contact list, it’s easy to manage the contacts. This FAQ will show you how to search for a contact in your contact list, how to view your contacts in the lists and how to block or remove a contact.

Note: This article covers the latest version of Skype (Skype 6 for iOS), but also includes instructions for Skype 4 for iOS here. If you're unsure of which version you're using, click here.

To block or remove a contact:

  1. Find the contact you want to block (using the Search function at the top of the screen).
  2. Tap the contact's name at the top of the screen.

  3. In the drop-down menu, tap View profile. In the profile view you can select either Block or Remove contact. You may need to scroll down to see it.

    You can also block and remove contacts that were suggested to you. To unblock a contact, follow the steps above, but choose unblock instead of block.

To search for a contact:

  1. Start Skype.
  2. In the All Contacts screen, swipe down to open the search box.
  3. Enter the contact’s name, Skype Name or phone number.
  4. Tap one of the contacts in the search results to see their profile and the ways you can contact them. To stop viewing a contact, tap outside of the profile screen.

Your contacts are arranged in Lists. When you sign in, you will see the All Contacts list.

To view all your contact lists, including All Contacts, Online Contacts, iPhone Contacts / iPod Contacts and Skype Contacts, tap the Lists icon at the top of the screen. If you have created customized lists on your computer or other device, they will be shown here, too.

To block or remove a contact:

  1. Tap People.
  2. Tap the contact you want to block or remove.
  3. Tap the options icon The options icon.
  4. Tap Remove from Contacts or Block Contact.
