How do I receive Skype calls?

As long as you’re signed in to Skype, you can receive Skype calls on your Android phone. When you receive a call, you'll see an incoming call notification screen. Simply tap the green call icon to pick up. If you don’t want to answer, tap the red end call icon to decline the call.

If you’re offline and you have activated Voice Messaging, the caller will be able to leave you a voice message.

Can I make a group call?

You cannot start a group call. However, you can join one. When you’re invited to join a group call, you will receive a call notification as usual. Simply tap the green call icon to join the group call.

You can also join a call that is already in progress:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Go to Recent.
  3. If there's a call already in progress that you can join, it will appear at the top of your Recent list as Ongoing. Tap the call to select it.
  4. Press the phone’s menu button or tap the menu icon The menu icon.
  5. Select Join ongoing call.

Can I receive calls to my Skype Number?

Can I receive and record voice messages?

Yes, you can. Received voice messages will appear alongside your call history and instant messages. The easiest way to find new voice messages is to tap Recent from the Skype home screen. Before you can receive voice messages, you’ll first need to activate Voice Messaging from your Skype account. You can sign in to your account from your mobile browser or on your computer.

If your contact appears offline and you want to leave them a voice message, simply tap the contact’s name, then tap Voice call and if needed, tap the Skype icon. Since your contact is offline, recording of the voice message will start automatically. Tap the red end call icon to stop recording.

Can I set up call forwarding?

Yes, you can. You can set Skype to forward incoming calls to any mobile or landline, or another Skype account. You’ll need a little Skype Credit or a subscription to forward calls to a mobile or landline, but forwarding calls to another Skype account is free.

To set call forwarding from your Android phone:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap your profile image in the right corner of the screen.
  3. Tap Call forwarding.
  4. If you have not already entered a number for your calls to be forwarded to, tap Add number, enter your mobile or landline number and confirm.
  5. Enable Forward my calls.

Any missed calls will now be forwarded to your chosen phone number.

Where can I view my call history?

You can find all your call history, along with your entire instant message and SMS text message history in Recent.

There you’ll see a list of conversations. You can select a conversation by tapping it.

The conversation to be selected from the list of conversations displayed under Recent, to view the conversation history

Selecting a conversation allows you to view your call history. You can read any instant messages that were sent as part of that conversation.

You can close conversations so that they no longer appear in your Recent list:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Find the conversation in Recent.
  3. Tap and hold the conversation and select Remove from history.

This will hide the conversation history. However, it will not delete it completely. Next time you receive an instant message or a call from this contact or group, the conversation history will reappear in your Recent list.

How can I ensure the best call quality?

For the best call quality, we recommend that you have a strong WiFi connection and that you don’t have a lot of other applications running. Applications such as music players and internet browsers can use a lot of your phone’s memory.

How do I set up caller ID?

If you call a mobile or landline number from Skype, no number will be displayed on the other person’s phone unless you set up caller identification. You can set up your mobile number or Skype Number as your caller ID from your account. You can sign in to your account either from your mobile browser or on your computer.
