Do I need an existing Skype account, or can I create a new one on my Android phone?

To create a new account:

  1. Start Skype.

  3. If you're starting Skype for the first time, accept the Terms of Use and tap I agree.
  4. Enter the required details:

    • A password (at least six characters and containing at least one number)
    • Your email address
    • Your mobile number

The account you create can be used on any other versions of Skype such as Skype for Windows, Skype for Mac, or Skype on your TV. You can, of course, use an existing Skype Name if you've previously created a Skype account. Simply tap Sign in with a Skype account when you start Skype, enter your Skype Name and password in the sign-in screen and tap Sign in.

You might see the second login below; if so, just enter your Skype Name, email address, or phone number to log in. Learn more.
