How do I set my status?

You can choose if you want your contacts to see you available to have a conversation or not. There are two statuses available in Skype for Android phones:

  • Available: You are available for a conversation.
  • Invisible: You can work with Skype but your contacts will see you are offline.
If you don't use Skype for a while, your status will automatically be set to away.

To set your status:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the right corner.
  3. Select either Available or Invisible.

How do I edit my mood message?

A mood message lets your contacts know how you’re feeling, what you’re thinking or what you’re up to. It’s also a great way to share links to websites, videos and music.

To set or edit your mood message:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the right corner.
  3. Tap the blue text field next to your profile picture.

How do I change my profile picture?

Your profile picture is the picture that your Skype contacts can see as a part of your profile. You can easily change it any time you want:

  1. Sign in to Skype.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the right corner.
  3. Tap your profile picture.

  1. Select from the options displayed:
    • Choose from Gallery: select a picture from your Android phone gallery.
    • Take picture: take a picture using your phone’s camera to use as your Skype profile picture.
    • Clear picture: remove your profile picture so it is no longer displayed to anyone on Skype.

Can I use personalized ringtones?

No, unfortunately, it’s not possible to change your ringtone in Skype for Android.
