How do I set up Skype To Go™?

  1. Sign in to your Skype account.
  2. In the Manage features section, select the Skype To Go tile.
  3. Select your country code and type in your phone number, then check the box if you're using a mobile number.
  4. Select Set up Skype to Go. You'll get an Access number, which you can use to dial international numbers from a mobile or landline.
  5. Add a contact to your Skype To Go number.


When you want to call your contact, simply dial their Skype To Go number and you'll be put straight through.

Make sure you:

  • Write down the Skype To Go Access number displayed on your screen, or save it to your phone.
  • Set up your four-digit PIN code – this way, if you call from an unregistered phone, you can still access your Skype To Go.

No, you don’t need to download or install anything. Simply sign in to your account and follow the instructions above.

  1. Sign in to your Skype account.
  2. In the Manage features section, select Skype To Go.
  3. Select Manage.
  4. Select Add new number.
  5. From the options provided, select whether the number you want to add is a mobile or landline number, enter the number, then Save.

You can register up to 20 different phone numbers to call your Skype To Go numbers from.

This is for security reasons. We register your phone number to prevent others from abusing your Skype To Go numbers.

Make sure that your phone’s caller identification is enabled, otherwise Skype To Go will not work.

Yes. If you call one of your Skype To Go numbers from an unregistered phone, an automated operator will ask you to enter one of your registered phone numbers including the international country code (for example: +1 for the US or +44 for the UK), and your PIN before the call can be connected. This stops anyone from using your Skype To Go numbers without your permission.

When you call one of your Skype To Go numbers from a registered phone, your call will be connected straight away.

We give you a PIN to prevent others from abusing your Skype To Go numbers.

Remember: If you call one of your Skype To Go numbers from a phone you haven’t registered on your account, an automated operator will ask you to enter one of your registered phone numbers along with your PIN. When entering a registered phone number, you need to include the international country code (for example: +1 for the US or +44 for the UK).

Never share your PIN with anyone else.

Your telecoms provider will be able to tell you which area code you are in and whether the area code of your Skype To Go matches that. If it doesn't, they will be able to help you find the right one.

Yes. With Skype To Go, you can also get an Access Number in supported countries. The only thing you will need is a verified phone number. If you have already verified your phone number, you should have received a notification via email. If not, it is easy to verify your number – just go to the Caller ID page in your account and select Add a new number.
