Viewing my Skype history (Windows Desktop)

To see a history of what you have done in Skype:

Sign in to Skype.

In the menu bar, click View and select from:


A list of events will also be displayed in the Contact / Recent tabs area. To get back to your Contact / Recent tab after viewing your history, click View > Contacts or View > Recent in the menu bar.

To see old voice messages you’ve sent or received in Skype:

Sign in to Skype.

In the menu bar, click View > Voice Messages.

Your voice messages will appear on the left side of the screen.

To get back to your Contact / Recent tab after viewing your history, click View > Contacts or View > Recent in the menu bar.

To see files you’ve sent or received in Skype:

Sign in to Skype.

In the menu bar, click View > Files sent and received.

The files you've sent and recieved will appear on the left side of the screen. Click a file to view its details.

To get back to your Contact / Recent tab after viewing your file history, click View > Contacts or View > Recent in the menu bar.

To see old instant messages you’ve sent or received in Skype:

Sign in to Skype.

In the menu bar, click Tools > Options.

On the left side of the Options window, select IM&SMS > IM settings.

Click the Show advanced options button.

Check that the Keep history for option is set to forever and click Save.

Click the Recent tab and scroll down to the bottom of the instant message list.

At the bottom of the list, click Show earlier messages. To get back to the compact view, click Hide earlier messages.

To see old SMS messages you’ve sent to (or received from) mobile phones:

Sign in to Skype.

In the menu bar, click View > SMS Messages.

Right-click a text message you have sent or received.

4 Then select View Old Messages and the desired time.
