How do I update my status, mood message and profile picture in Skype for iPhone?

With Skype, it’s easy to keep your profile up to date.

By changing your status, mood message and profile picture, you can let your friends know whether you’re available to talk, what you’ve been up to and what you look like (if they haven’t seen you for a while).

Note: This article covers the latest version of Skype (Skype 6 for iOS), but also includes instructions for Skype 4 for iOS here. If you're unsure of which version you're using, click here.

To edit your profile in Skype, simply tap the My info tab at the bottom of the screen. You can then personalize your profile using the fields below:

  1. Profile picture: Tap your profile picture to add or change your picture. You can take a new picture or use one saved on your phone.
  2. Mood message: Tap the mood message area to type in a new mood message using your iPhone keyboard.
  3. Status: Tap Status to set your status to available, away, do not disturb, invisible, or offline.

To edit your profile in Skype 4 for iOS, at the bottom right of your screen, tap Profile. You can then personalize your profile using the fields below:

  1. Profile picture: Tap the camera icon to add or change your picture. You can take a new picture or use one saved on your phone.
  2. Mood message: Tap the mood message area to type in a new mood message using your iPhone keyboard.
