How do I make myself searchable in Skype for iOS?

When you download the newest version of Skype for iOS on your iPhone or iPad, whether you're a new or existing user, you might be asked to verify your mobile number in order to automatically add friends to Skype. Skype will use this information to verify your contact details and automatically add friends in your address book who are also on Skype. This feature is being rolled out gradually, so don't worry if you don't see it right away.

To make yourself searchable in the newest version of Skype:

  1. Start Skype.
  2. Tap My info.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap How people find me.

  5. In the privacy screen, you can use the slider to determine whether or not Skype can use your mobile number to access your iPhone/iPad address book:

  6. If you don't have a verified phone number yet, you can tap Add phone number on this screen and enter your phone number.

You can also turn on or off the suggested contacts feature:

  1. Start Skype.
  2. Tap My info.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Automatically add friends.
