Skype for Web uses a plugin to enable audio and video calls. Recently, Chrome has stopped supporting the plugin technology Skype for Web uses, meaning that the older Skype plugins are now incompatible with Chrome on Windows. In order to make voice and video calls on Skype for Web, you will have to install the new Skype Chrome Extension and a new Skype for Web plugin when you log in to Skype for Web. Note: If you're using Chrome in Incognito Mode, you will need to allow the plugin to run in Incognito Mode in the browser settings.
If you’d prefer not to download the extension or plugin, simply visit Skype for Web from either Internet Explorer or Firefox.
