    What are Mojis?

    Back to search results

Mojis are short video clips you can use to express yourself in your instant messages – for those times when words or emoticons just aren’t enough. We’ve handpicked some of the funniest and most iconic moments from TV and film for you to browse, preview and send to your friends. Plus, we’re adding new films and characters to our collection all the time, so be sure to check the Moji tabs for updates.

To preview and send a Moji in an IM:

    1. Select the smiley face  in the conversation box.
    2. Choose one of the Moji tabs.

      A. See a selection of recently added Mojis under Featured and some of our most popular picks.
      B. Our categories currently available: Hollywood, BBC, the Muppets, Bollywood, Angry Birds, Spring and Love. New categories to be added soon, so be sure to check back for updates.
    3. Find the Moji you want to use. You can click or tap to view it.  On your Android or iOS device, you can also search for the Moji you'd like to send by selecting the search button.
    4. To send the Moji, select it again and then press Enter or click or tap Send as normal.

You can send and receive Mojis in the latest Skype for Windows desktop, Mac OS X, iOS, Android and Skype for Web, so make sure you have the latest version. Mojis are not supported on Windows XP and Vista. If your version of Skype can’t play your received Mojis, you'll see a web link instead to view them.

The Mojis you can send depend on your location - some Mojis are only available in certain regions. However, you can receive any Moji from your friends wherever you are in the world.
