We’ve made it effortless to give Skype a try – you don’t need an account and you don’t need to download anything. You can chat, make voice or video calls, even share photos, emoticons, and Mojis with your friends. This isn't a replacement for joining Skype since conversations can't be saved, but it's a great way to try it out.
Here’s how to instantly start an IM, voice or video conversation with your friends as a Skype guest:
Go to the Skype homepage and click the Start a conversation button.
- Enter your name, and then click Start a conversation.
- Click the Copy Link button and send the link to your friends. If they don't have Skype, they can join as a guest on Skype.com.
Keep in mind, your guest conversation will only last for 24 hours. The great news is, it only takes a couple minutes to sign up for a Skype account. Then you can keep the conversations for as long as you want. And there is so much more you can do with Skype when you have an account.
To enjoy the best that Skype offers, download the app. And if you don’t want to download the Skype app, try using Skype for Web from any supported web browser.
It doesn’t seem to work for me?
We are rolling it out gradually and it may take some time before it gets to your region.
Skype guest conversation is currently available on Windows and Mac computers only.
To try Skype without downloading or signing up, you will need an internet connection, and a supported web browser (on Windows: Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 10 and above and latest versions of Chrome and Firefox. On Mac OS: Safari 6 and above).
