    • Why can't I find the latest version of the Skype app in the Google Play Store?
      The latest version of Skype is not yet available on Android tablets and we've seen reports that this can sometimes cause phones not to find it in the Google Play Store. If the latest version of Skype isn't available to install from the Google Play Store, follow these steps to reset your resolution and pixel density to their default settings:

      Note: The latest version of Skype is not available to install on Android tablets. Changing your resolution and pixel density on an Android tablet will not allow you to find or install it from the Google Play Store on a tablet. 
       
      1. From your device settings, tap Display, and then tap Screen resolution
      2. Reduce your screen resolution to FHD 1920x1080.
      3. Next, from your device settings, tap Apps, tap Google Play Store, and then tap Storage
      4. Tap the Clear Data Button, and then tap the Clear Cache button
      5. Open the Google Play Store, and search for the Skype app. 
      6. Skype should now be available to install. 
    • Why are my Skype contacts or credit missing?
      This can occur if you are signed into the wrong account. Learn more
       
    • Why am I missing credit when I sign into Skype?
      Make sure you are signed into the correct account by using your email, phone or Skype account information.
       
    • Why am I being asked for my date of birth when I sign into the Skype?
      Microsoft Account requires your date of birth to give you the best experience and for children’s online safety reasons.
       
    • Am I able to receive translator calls in the latest version of Skype?
      Yes, we have added this functionality. Learn more about how to use Skype translator.
       
    • Why can't my contact see my message and call reactions in Skype?
      Message reactions are only supported in the latest version of  Skype. Learn more.
       
    • Can I use my phone number to create an account in the latest version of Skype?
      If you create an account using your phone number, your phone number will be temporarily unavailable for others to use to find you on Skype. This is a known issue and will be resolved soon. However, people will still be able to use your full name to search for you on Skype.

      If people are having trouble finding you, here are a few tips to help:

      • Tap your profile picture and tap Share profile to share your unique link with friends and family.
      • Tap your profile picture and your Skype Name will be listed in your profile. Your friends and family can find you in Skype via your Skype Name.
      • Start a chat with your friends and family first. The chat will appear in their Chats screen, and they can chat or call you easily from there.
    • Why is the latest version of Skype for Android (6.0+) crashing when viewing webpages in Chromium? 
      The Chromium component of Android System WebView is likely outdated. Learn more
    • Why have my instant messages suddenly stopped sending?
      Please check that you have an internet connection. If you are connected to the internet, please restart the app.

    • Why can't I see older messages in a group chat with the chat history enabled?
      We're working on this issue and hope to have this working correctly soon.

    • Where do I find my Skype ID?
      Navigate to My profile and scroll down to Skype.

    • Skype on Mac keeps asking me for admin credentials when I install or upgrade Skype.
      Please follow these steps to fix the issue: 
      1. Download the latest Skype installer (.dmg file) from Skype.com.
      2. After downloading, open the installer file by double-clicking it and you will see a Skype app icon. Do NOT install Skype by dragging and dropping the Skype app within this window.
      3. Open Finder and locate your personal Applications folder, it's typically at 'Macintosh HD/Users/[your username]/Applications/'.
      4. From the Skype installer window, drag and drop the Skype app to your personal Applications folder.

    • Skype Snap on Linux doesn't auto start as expected.
      We're working on this issue and hope to have this working correctly soon.

    • Why are my Skype contacts or credit missing?
      This can occur if you are signed into the wrong account. Learn more

    • Can I use my phone number to create an account in Skype?
      If you create an account using your phone number in Skype (version 8), your phone number will be temporarily unavailable for others to use to find you on Skype. This is a known issue and will be resolved soon. However, people will still be able to use your full name to search for you on Skype.

    • Incoming calls can't be merged with a current call
      We haven't built the functionality to merge calls into the app yet.
       
    • When sharing your screen on Skype for Linux, the red screen sharing border is not shown
      The red border that indicates whether you are sharing your screen, and which screen you are sharing is not currently visible on Skype for Linux. 
       
    • Linux users with Wayland display server are not able to share their screen
      Linux distributions with Wayland display server (e.g. Ubuntu 17.10) do not support screen sharing. As a workaround, you can use the operating system on Xorg instead of Wayland. 
       
    • MacOS Mojave (10.14) users may experience issues with video not working.
