    • Issues when quoting a message in Skype for Android.
      When you tap to quote a message, you may not be taken back to the original message as expected. We are aware of this issue and are working on the resolution. 

    • Issues when searching for specific text in a Skype conversation.
      When using search, you sometimes need to tap on the message search result twice before the focus moves on to the found message.

    • Why have my instant messages suddenly stopped sending?
      Please check that you have an internet connection. If you are connected to the internet, please restart the app.

    • Why can't I see older messages in a group chat with the chat history enabled?
      We're working on this issue and hope to have this working correctly soon.

    • Where do I find my Skype ID?
      Navigate to My profile and scroll down to Skype.
    • Message time stamps incorrectly displayed by one hour in Skype for Windows Desktop, Mac or Linux.
      The recent change from Daylight Savings Time (DST) to Standard Time may cause time stamps for messages in Skype to be one hour different from your computer’s system time. Skype users who are located in Brazil and other areas that do not observe DST may experience this issue. As a workaround, we recommend using Skype for Web.

    • Issues on macOS Catalina when trying to use screen sharing in Skype for Web from a Chrome browser.
      If you are experiencing problems in Skype for Web when screen sharing in Chrome on macOS Catalina (10.15), please make sure you have the latest Chrome version. Alternatively, you can use Skype for Mac.

    • Issues when trying to select an audio device in Skype for Windows Desktop, Mac or Linux.
      We are aware of issues when selecting audio devices in Skype. If you are experiencing problems when trying to select your audio device, please verify the audio device settings are correct in the operating system, as Skype looks for those settings as well.

    • Skype requires access to Screen recording in the Mac System Preferences to share your screen during a call in Skype on macOS Catalina.
      If you receive a Screenshare notification and are unable to share your screen during a Skype call, you will need to grant Skype access for Screen Recording in macOS Catalina System Preferences. Please go to Mac System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Screen Recording, and grant access to Skype.

    • Skype may not open as expected in macOS Catalina.
      To work around this issue, find the Skype app in the Applications folder, secondary click then Open and when prompted select Open again.

    • Issues when sharing a file or photo to a chat in Skype for Linux.
      If you are unable to share a certain file or photo to a Skype chat, it could be that there is a special character in the file name. Please try renaming the file or photo to remove the special character and share it again.

    • When trying to change the keyboard layout using a keyboard shortcut in Linux, the Skype file menu opens instead.
      You can change that particular keyboard shortcut to a different key combination in Linux.

    • Issues when searching for specific text in a Skype conversation.
      When using search, you sometimes need to tap on the message search result twice before the focus moves on to the found message. 

    • When making a call and using the Dial Pad to select the option for Touch Tones, they will not work if you have subtitles enabled on the call.
      To workaround this issue simply disable subtitles: Select your profile picture > Settings > Calling > Call Subtitles, then turn off the option to Show subtitles for all voice and video calls

      Note: If you don't have the option turned on to Show subtitles for all voice and video calls but have turned subtitles on for an individual call, starting a new call with your contact will resolve this issue.  

    • Some customers using Skype for Web on Edge might experience the composer not clearing after they send a message. 
      We're working on this issue and hope to have this working correctly soon.
       
    • Skype doesn't appear as an option when trying to grant camera and microphone permissions in Mac Mojave OS settings.
      Run these two commands to fix the problem: 
      • tccutil reset Microphone com.skype.skype
      • tccutil reset Camera com.skype.skype

    • When signing out of Skype for Linux, the app forgets my credentials when I didn't select that option.
      You can fix the issue by installing the gnome-keyring package from your Linux distribution's package manager.
       
    • Skype Snap on Linux doesn't auto start as expected.
      We're working on this issue and hope to have this working correctly soon.

    • When sharing your screen on Skype for Linux, the red screen sharing border is not shown.
      The red border that indicates whether you are sharing your screen, and which screen you are sharing is not currently visible on Skype for Linux. 
       
    • Linux users with Wayland display server are not able to share their screen.
      Linux distributions with Wayland display server (e.g. Ubuntu 17.10) do not support screen sharing. As a workaround, you can use the operating system on Xorg instead of Wayland. 
       
    • Issues with copying and pasting photos or links in Skype for Windows 10 (version 14).
      When you copy and paste photos or Links in Skype for Windows 10 (version 14), it may not work as expected. We're working on this issue and hope to have this working correctly soon.
    • After changing the system language in Windows 10 (version 14), the Skype sign in window may not display correctly.
      Some languages may not display correctly in the Skype sign in window and could block you from signing in. Restarting the computer and opening Skype again should resolve this issue.
    • Issue using a global hotkey while in split view
      When using split view in Skype for Windows 10 (version 14), the global hotkey for mute will not work.
