    How do I view someone's profile in Skype on desktop?

    1. Find the person's profile you want to view in your recent chats.
    2. Right-click their name, and then select View profile. Alternatively, from within a chat, tap the chat header to view their profile. 

    Skype on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Skype for Windows 10 (version 14)

    1. From their profile, select the edit  edit button button. 
    2. Enter a new name and confirm your changes.
    3. When you edit someone's name, it only changes how their name appears to you. 


    Skype for Windows 10 (version 12)

    1. In your contact list, right-click the contact and select View Profile.
    2. Click on their name, type a new name for your contact and hit Enter.
    • Send a message: Select Send message send message button.
    • Start an audio call: Select Start call Start a call button  to start an audio call with this person. 
    • Start a video call: Select Start video call  start a video call button  to start a video call with this person. 
    • Start a private conversation: Select Start private conversation private conversation button to chat with an added layer of security. 
    • Send or request money: Select Send and request money send money button   to send and receive money with your friends and family. Send Money is only available to customers in supported countries, learn more
    • Create a new group: Select Create a new group new group button  , select the people you want to add to the group from the list, or use Search, and then select  the Done button. 
    • Translate: Select Start translator  Translator button  to translate conversations.
    • Add to Favorites: Toggle Add to favorites on or off to pin the conversation to the top of your chat list. 
    • Delete contact: Select to delete this person from your Skype contacts. 
    • Chat gallery: Select Chat Gallery to view all the images that have been shared to this chat. 
    • Chat settings: Select Chat settings to:
      • Notifications: Select Notifications to turn notifications on or off for this chat. 
      • Delete Skype Conversation: Select Delete chat to delete your entire conversation.
      • Private conversation notifications: Select Notifications to toggle them on or off for this chat. 
      • Delete private conversation: Select this to delete your private conversation. 
      • End private conversation: Select this to continue chatting without end-to-end encryption.
