    How do I opt out of being visible in the Skype public search directory on mobile?

    You can add or edit information in your Skype profile such as your location, email, or phone number to make it easier for friends to find you. If you prefer not to be included in the public search directory or suggested friend's, then you can opt out. Opting out will make you completely unsearchable to anyone.

    Follow the steps below that match your version of Skype. 

    iOS and Android (6.0+)

    If you have...

    • Manage how people find you on Skype across the top

    Android 4.0.3 - 5.1

    If you have...

    • Skype across the top
    Opt out of Search iOS and Android 6.0 and above   Opt out of Search Android 4.0 - 5.0
    1. In the Chats tab, tap your profile picture
    2. Tap the settings  button, scroll down and tap Privacy.
    3. Tap Manage how people find you on Skype and then toggle Appear in search results and suggestions off. You can make yourself discoverable again by toggling this option back on at any time. 
    1. In the Chats screen, tap the Menu button (three vertical lines).
    2. Tap My profile then tap the Edit Edit profile Android 4.0 - 5.0 button.
    3. Scroll down to the Settings and preferences drop down and select Edit profile.
    4. Select Profile settings and uncheck Appear in search results and suggestions. You can make yourself discoverable again by checking this box back on at any time.
