We require a date of birth for all Microsoft accounts to promote child safety in accordance with applicable laws and to provide you with the best user experience. Additionally, depending on your region, a parent or guardian's permission may be required to create an account. For more information, please visit our site Parental consent and Microsoft child accounts. You can also manage your Microsoft account from your account profile page.
Note: The date of birth you set on your Microsoft account is separate from the date of birth set in your Skype profile. You can choose whether you want to share your birthday with your friends and family by signing into your Skype profile and entering it there.
