If your Mac asks for admin credentials when installing or upgrading Skype, follow these steps.

  1. Download the latest Skype installer (.dmg file) from Skype.com.

  2. After downloading, open the installer file by double-clicking it.

    • Do not install Skype by dragging and dropping the Skype app in this window.

  3. Open Finder and locate your personal Applications folder.

    • It's typically at Macintosh HD/Users/[your username]/Applications/ .

  4. Drag and drop the Skype app from the Skype Installer window to your personal Applications folder.
