Sometimes on a Skype video call, it's helpful to add a second, parallel video stream using your mobile device's camera, while keeping the primary camera on yourself. With the TwinCam feature in Skype, you can do that by adding your mobile phone's camera to a desktop call during presentations, tutorials, or simply sharing your environment with friends and family.

A common use case:

If you are a music teacher, you can maintain eye contact with your student through your desktop, while TwinCam simultaneously spotlights the intricate finger movements on a piano, elevating the learning experience.
Whether you are leading a presentation, hosting a tutorial, or sharing a heart-to-heart with a loved one, TwinCam invites them into your world.

How do I activate TwinCam during a call?

  1. During call (both 1:1 and group calls) on desktop or web, select the TwinCam button in Skype TwinCam icon .

  2. From the Scan to add video from your phone screen, scan the QR code using your mobile phone's camera.

  3. From your mobile phone, tap to open in Skype.

  4. Tap Start TwinCam to add the camera from your mobile phone to the call.

What should Skype users know before using TwinCam?

Skype users will need to have the Skype mobile app pre-downloaded and be signed in to the same account, to use TwinCam.

What should I do if I can't see the TwinCam option?

Ensure that you are using the latest version of Skype on desktop or web. If the problem persists, please contact Skype support for assistance.

Note: TwinCam is currently not supported on iPad or tablet.

Remember, TwinCam is designed to make your Skype calls more dynamic and engaging. Make the most of your conversations with this innovative feature!
