What are Skype Clips and how do I use it?

Skype Clips lets you do more than just talk. It allows you to record your screen and yourself simultaneously. It lets you create and communicate in a whole new way.

How do I use Skype Clips?

Skype Clips is much more than mere video messages. It allows you to capture and record your camera and the screen simultaneously to create engaging narratives that captivate.

Creating Clips is a breeze! We offer three entry points for your convenience:

  1. Click the main compose button to spot the ‘record your clip’ in the list box.

  2. Slide into any friends’ chat to find ‘record a clip’ option in 3 dots next to composer

  3. Click on your profile , and find option "Clips Gallery" and start creating from there!

Choose your recording preferences, such as camera-only, camera and screen, or screen-only , select your audio options, and hit Start.

Your 5-minute Clip begins recording with options to mute, pause, or stop anytime. You can also delete and re-record instantly. Once stopped, the Clip processes, and voila!

Add a title and description, then instantly share it with friends or save it to your Library. Easy!

If you’re using Skype on your desktop, just update it to the latest version, and voila – you’re ready to roll with Skype Clips. Click here to get your latest version of Skype.

As of now, Skype Clips is exclusively available on Skype desktop application. However, stay tuned for more updates and exciting developments.

Super simple. Click on the "share" option in Skype Clips Galery or recording itself, and you can seamlessly send your Clips to friends in the chat, share them on social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and more, or save them directly to your gallery!

While Skype Clips presently captures your voice and picks up any music playing on your PC during recording, we do not provide editing options. As we continually enhance features, keep an eye out for updates.

Absolutely! Spread your good vibes by sharing your Clips in your group chat instantly. Just tap on the option icon (the three dots) and select ‘record a clip’ to start creating.

Your privacy matters! Clips are automatically saved in private mode until you choose to share them. Once shared, rest assured that your Clips are shielded by end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only you and your selected recipient can enjoy the magic.

Unfortunately, not yet. Skype Clips is your go-to for asynchronous messages, but who knows what the future holds?

Yes! Currently, Clips automatically expire after 30 days (as any other shared media in Skype), but we're actively working to allow you to retain them for as long as you desire or feel free to save them to your device.

Once it's deleted, it's gone. Make sure you're certain before hitting that delete button!

Currently, you can modify the title and description of your clip after sharing with your friends or saving it in Clips Gallery. However, re-editing of the clip recording itself is not available at the moment. We're actively working on improvements, so stay tuned for updates that might expand these editing capabilities!

Yes, indeed! Your Skype Clips undergo automatic transcription, converting spoken words to text for enhanced accessibility. However, factors like poor audio quality or background noise may impact their accuracy. If the transcription faces any challenges, you will receive a notification. We recommend reviewing the transcription before relying on it in cases of considering it as a sole source of information.
