What can I use Skype Credit for?

    Skype Credit is a convenient and easy way to pay for Skype features that are not free. You can use it to make calls to mobiles and landlines, and send SMS text messages, all at Skype’s low rates.

    Important: If you are in India and your automatic payment fails, it might be due to new regulations effective October 1, 2021. Learn more about what this change means for you.

    Use Skype Credit to purchase Subscriptions and Skype Numbers.*
    Simply start the purchasing process of a subscription or Skype Number and follow the instructions. When you need to choose a payment method, select the Skype Credit option. Complete the purchase and the total will be taken from your Skype Credit balance. 

    Buy Skype Credit as a gift or send Skype Credit.
    From your account, send Skype Credit to friends or family by using our Send Credit link

    Enable Auto-recharge for Skype Credit.
    This means we will top you up when your balance falls below $2. You can use this feature by going to our Auto-recharge link on the web or Skype to Phone in the Skype app. Learn more about Auto-recharge.

    * You can’t use your Skype Credit to purchase Skype products in Japan.  
    ** Additionally, you can’t use your Skype Credit to purchase New Zealand Skype Numbers.
