Only one participant needs a Skype Premium account for group video calls.
Skype vouchers are electronic Skype Credit vouchers sold in various retail outlets. You can use them to top up your Skype Credit.
Old Skype vouchers had a 16 digit code. Since July 19, 2012, vouchers include a 25 digit code arranged into five groups of five characters. The first group is always “SKYPE”, for example “SKYPE-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX”.
If your voucher has a different format, for example, it has an 8 digit PIN attached after the code, you’ll need to delete the last 8 digits (PIN code) and then redeem the voucher.
The following questions and answers will help you redeem your Skype voucher:
When you receive an email with your voucher code, click the voucher redemption link and you’ll be redirected to the Redeem voucher page. The voucher number in the Redeem voucher page will be filled in automatically.
If the email doesn’t contain a voucher redemption link, you’ll need to enter your redemption code manually.
Skype vouchers include VAT at the applicable rate. We will deduct this VAT at the time of redemption; the amount you see added to your balance is the voucher value minus VAT. All the calls you make from Skype will then be charged VAT free.
Anyone with a Skype account can redeem a Skype voucher anywhere in the world. We will convert the value of the voucher to the currency of the Skype account the voucher is redeemed against. As Skype vouchers are liable for VAT based on where they are purchased, even if you give the voucher to a friend in a country where VAT doesn't normally apply, we’ll still deduct VAT from the voucher value.
If you have bought a Skype voucher in a different currency than your Skype account is registered in, the voucher amount will be converted to your currency when the value is deposited into your account. Due to exchange rate differences, the amount added to your account may vary.
When you're having problems redeeming your voucher, we recommend that you:
If you still can’t redeem your voucher, you can contact Skype Customer Service with as much information as possible and we’ll help you to solve the issue.
