How do I change my registered email address or add another email address to my profile?

You need to have a registered email address in your profile, because we use it to contact you with important information about your Skype account. You’ll also need to know it if you need to reset your password.

As well as your registered email address, you can add multiple ‘profile’ email addresses to help your friends and contacts find you on Skype. This is useful if, for example, your colleagues only know your work email address but you use your personal one as your registered email address.

Add an email address to your profile

To add another email address to your Skype profile:

  1. Sign in to your account

  2. Click your profile picture, or select Edit Profile in the Account details section at the bottom of the page.

  3. Scroll down to the Contact details section and click Add email address.



     
  4. In the box that appears, type your new email address and click the green Save button at the bottom of the page.


The email address is added to your profile. No one can see your email addresses - they are only visible to you when you sign in to your account.

You can add up to three more email addresses - just follow the steps above. 

Set a profile email address as your registered email address

To set a profile email address as your registered email address:

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. Click your profile picture, or select Edit Profile in the Account details section at the bottom of the page.

  3. Scroll down to the Contact details section and click the Edit button on the right.



     
  4. Select Set as primary email next to the address you want to set as your registered email, and click the green Save button at the bottom of the page.



     
  5. Enter your password to confirm the change of your registered email address.

Edit or remove an email address from your profile

You can edit an email address or remove it from your profile if you no longer use it. To edit or remove a profile email address:

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. Click your profile picture, or select Edit Profile in the Account details section at the bottom of the page.

  3. Scroll down to the Contact details section and click the Edit button on the right. 
  4. Click the email address you want to change and edit or delete it, then click the green Save button at the bottom of the page.



You can’t delete your registered email address, as there always needs to be one in your Skype profile. However, you can edit the one you’ve already registered (just follow the steps above), or set one of your profile email addresses as your registered email address.
