Live captions & subtitles in Skype let you read the words that are spoken during an audio or video call. Live captions & subtitles are not available in Skype on Android 4.0.4 - 5.1.
To turn live captions & subtitles on in Skype:
- During an audio or video call, select the
Caption button to turn live captions on. - Select the Caption button again where you can customize the caption settings:
- Language - select to change the language.
- Always show captions for this conversation - select if you want captions to always show for this chat.
- Only show captions for other participants - select if you only want to get captions for other participants but not for yourself.
- Floating Captions - select to show the captions in the middle of the call screen.
- Show on left - select to show the captions to the left of the call screen.
- Show on bottom - select to show the captions under the call screen.
- If you have Show on left or Show on bottom selected, you can view the caption history by scrolling through the captions during the call.
Note: The audio call data will be processed by Microsoft Speech Services to transcribe the spoken language.
