How do I sign in to Skype?

You can sign in to Skype with a Skype name, email or phone.

If you already have a Skype or Microsoft account:

1. Open Skype and click or tap Skype name, email or phone.
2. Enter your Skype name, email or phone and select Sign in.
3. Enter your password and select the arrow to continue. You’re now signed in to Skype. 

Note: Once you've signed in, Skype will remember your sign in information when you close Skype or sign out and choose to remember your account settings.

If you don't have a Skype or Microsoft account:

1. Visit Skype.com from your browser and download Skype.
2. Start Skype and click or tap Create new account.
3. We’ll take you through the process to create your new account for Skype.

If you have signed in to Skype on desktop and want to sign in on your mobile device with a QR code:

After signing in to your Skype desktop app, you can use a QR code to easily sign in on your mobile device as well.

1. Select your profile picture.
2. Select Sign in with QR code.
3. Select Generate QR code.
4. On your mobile device, launch Skype
5. Select Sign in with QR code.
6. Select Scan QR code.
7. Scan the QR code displayed on your desktop to sign in.
